[edit] Plot

Four hundred years ago, the ninja and the Youkai had a great war. The legendary Sarutobi Sasuke and other four ninja sealed the Youkai Commander Nurarihyon and all his Youkai's energies away in a cave protected by the "Seal Door". In the present, the only surviving Youkai, Kappa, tricks Sarutobi Sasuke and Kirigakure Saizo's descendants, Saizou and Sasuke, into releasing the Youkai by opening the "Seal Door". Now these two, joined by three other descendants of great ninja, become the Kakuranger to fight the Youkai with the aid of the Sanshinshou.

Main article: Kakurangers

"Hiding from the people and slashing evil! Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, revealed!"
Ninja Sentai Kakuranger (and NinjaMan)

Each member is named after a legendary ninja and master of the Hidden Style Ninjutsu (Kakureryū Ninjustu).

* Sasuke/Ninjared (サスケ/ニンジャレッド, Sasuke/Ninjareddo?) is 26 years old and a descendant of Sarutobi Sasuke. The most agile member of the team. He is a reckless young man who's hot to go out and drag the others into battle. He screws up many times. However, he doesn't reflect on his errors and is good-hearted and loyal. No matter how great the enemy, he won't budge. He likes fireworks. He corresponds to Sun Wukong of Saiyuki.
o Ninja Arts (忍法, Ninpō?): Cloning.
o Special Attacks: Hidden Style Full Moon Slash (隠流・満月斬り, Kakure Ryū Mangetsu Kiri?), Hidden Style Thunder Cut (隠流・雷鳴斬, Kakure Ryū Raimei Kiri?).
* Tsuruhime/Ninjawhite (鶴姫/ニンジャホワイト, Tsuruhime/Ninjahowaito?) is 15 years old and the first female leader of a Sentai. The twenty-fourth protector of the Seal Door, Tsuruhime is a strong girl who is looking for her missing father, Hakumenrou. She has greater leadership skills than Sasuke. She once fought alongside two other girls, Yukiyo & Tsukiyo, as one of the 'Punishment Sisters'. She corresponds to Xuanzang.
o Ninja Arts (忍法, Ninpō?): Transformation.
o Special Attacks: Hidden Style Ku Character Slash (隠流・くの字斬り, Kakure Ryū Ku no Ji Kiri?), Dance of the Paper Crane (折り鶴の舞, Oridzuru no Mai?), Ninja Art Falling Cherry Blossoms (忍法花吹雪, Ninpō Hanafubuki?).
* Saizou/Ninjablue (サイゾウ/ニンジャブルー, Saizō/Ninjaburū?) is a descendant of Kirigakure Saizo. 22 years old, a constantly chattering, easily flattered man who thinks he's a lot smarter than he really is. Likes to help other people making him popular among children. Somehow unlucky in most things. His way of talking is a little feminine. He corresponds to Sha Wujing.
o Ninja Arts (忍法, Ninpō?): Water Running.
* Seikai/Ninjayellow (セイカイ/ニンジャイエロー, Seikai/Ninjaierō?) is 24 years old and a descendant of Miyoshi Seikai. Seikai likes video games. He refuses to battle at the beginning but when he saw Rokurokubi steal children, he decides to battle. He is driven by desire and dash for food, sleep, and women. He is indecisive, but has unusual strength from his ancestor. He corresponds to Zhu Bajie.
o Ninja Arts (忍法, Ninpō?): Enlargement.
o Special Attacks: Hidden Style Triple Slash (隠流・三段斬り, Kakure Ryū Sandan Kiri?), Hidden Style Square Formation (隠流正方の陣, Kakure Ryū Seihō no Jin?).
* Jiraiya/Ninjablack (ジライヤ/ニンジャブラック, Jiraiya/Ninjaburakku?) is a descendant of Jiraiya. 20 years old, he is a Japanese-American ninja from Los Angeles trained by his guardian Gali after his father was killed. Jiraiya stands out among the characters because he speaks English frequently (which at first caused both teasing and confusion with the other team members when he speaks in English), his native language, but he learns Japanese as the show progresses. During his first appearance, he was helping the Youkai. In reality, he did so to steal the other four scrolls, stolen by Azukiarai, to allow him and the other three Kakurangers (besides Sasuke, who already had his) to become Juushou. He is stereotyped with a combination of a cowboy/surfer persona. He is the pure fighter of the group. Although he knows Earth-based Ninja Arts, he prefers to fight utilizing his martial art skills. While finding his Shinobi Scroll, Jiraiya was forced to battle Gali, who revealed himself as the man who killed his father and serving the Youkai. After the bloody battle between them, Jiraiya learned why Gali did it, as well as hoping Jiraiya would kill him had intended. Both the deaths of Zashiki-warashi and the two men he had knew since childhood gave Jiraiya reason to fight the Youkai. He is the only member with no "Journey to the West" corresponding character.
o Ninja Arts (忍法, Ninpō?): Ground Merging/Earth Swimming.
o Special Attacks: Hidden Style Shooting Star (隠流・流れ星, Kakure Ryū Nagareboshi?), Three Kick (スリーキック, Surī Kikku?).

[edit] Friends and Allies

"Partner of Justice, NinjaMan!"

* NinjaMan (ニンジャマン, Ninjaman?, 36-50, 52-53): The pupil of the Sanshinshou, who was within a blue pot as punishment a millennium ago for allowing himself to be fooled by Daimaou to attack the humans. Once released by Tsuruhime, NinjaMan becomes an ally to the Kakurangers and comes to their aid when needed. As a ninja master, NinjaMan wields a katana, and had a wide array of Ninja Arts at his command, including enlargement to aid his mentors in their fights. He can ride on a cloud called the Kintou Cloud. Whenever a Youkai calls him "Blue Squirt" (青二才, Ao Nisai?), he gets angry enough to change into SamuraiMan (サムライマン, Samuraiman?), who connects his weapon with its sheath to form a powerful javelin. In this state, SamuraiMan creates explosive energy spheres formed from his rage in his ultimate attack, Samurai Rage Bomber. In the finale, after the Youkai are sealed away, NinjaMan is now with his masters and says goodbye to the Kakurangers.
o Weapons: Ninja Sword (ニンジャソード, Ninja Sōdo?) / Samurai Javelin (サムライジャベリン, Samurai Jaberin?)
o Special Attacks: Samurai Rage Bomber (サムライ激怒ボンバー, Samurai Gekido Bonbā?)
o Actor: Hideaki Kusaka
* Announcer (1-24, 39): A kimodo-wearing anchorman who served as the series narrator, introducing the Youkai. During episode 39, he and his news crew wanted to know more about the Kakurangers, getting into their personal lives. But they followed a pair of Dorodoros to Junior's mansion, learning of Nopperabo's revival ability until Daimou sensed them and sicced the Dorodoros on them. While the others escaped, the Announcer was caught and thrown off a bridge, though he managed to survive.
* Sandayuu Momochi (百地三太夫, Momochi Sandayū?, 1-3, 5, 9, 23-24, 26, 28, 30-31): A ninja master who instructs the Kakurangers on their abilities and is considered dangerous by the Youkai. He aided the Rangers when Gasha Dokuro set up the beginning phase of Daimaou's resurrection, warning the Kakurangers they are not ready to face him. But the Kakurangers refused to accept that and were quickly defeated before Sandayuu had Tsubasamaru bring them the Wind Illusion Castle to see the Sanshinshou, revealing Daimaou's origins and that all three Sanshinshou are needed to stop him. While Tsuruhime was looking for her Shinobi Scroll, she was found by Sandayuu and taken to her family's mansion. There, Sandayuu used her quest as a test to prove her worth as the Kakurangers' leader and heir to her family legacy, providing her with karakuri replicas of her teammates. He briefly meets with Hakamenrou, whom he was working with, to rescue Tsuruhime when Hakamenrou fought her. However, Junior learned of this and impaled Sandayuu with own his katana. Sandayuu lived long enough from the wound to tell the team to form Kakure Dai Shougun during their final fight with GashaDokuro and give them his final words.
* Zashiki-warashi (ザシキワラシ, Zashikiwarashi?, 18): A Youkai child who refused to harm humans, and was pursued by Junior as a result. While posing a young boy with enchanted mushrooms, he befriended several children and eventually Jiraiya. When Gasha Dokuro overpowered NinjaBlack, Zashikiwarashi turned himself in to save Jiraiya. Using the storm, Junior turned Zashikiwarashi into a giant demonic parody of himself and sent him to destroy the city. After a brief battle with the Juushou Fighters, it took the children he befriended to give Zashikiwarashi the power to come back to his senses and thus returned to normal. But Junior soon mortally wounded Zashikiwarashi for betraying the Youkai Gundan, with the young Youkai surrounded by his new friends before he died and turned into a toadstool. His death was the catalysis for the rivalry between Jiraiya and Junior.
* Four Super Sentai Teams: These four teams came along when the Emperor Daidas came to Earth.
o Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman: Super Sentai from 1990.
o Choujin Sentai Jetman: Super Sentai from 1991, reunited and came to help the Kakurangers.
o Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger: Super Sentai from 1992, returned from Heaven to help the Kakuranger to defeat Emperor Daidas.
o Gosei Sentai Dairanger: Super Sentai of the year before.
* Reika (25): A young girl who tended to Sasuke's injuries while he was searching for his Shinobi Scroll. She is eventually revealed as a butterfly that assumed human form from being inside the very scroll Sasuke is looking for, revealing its location to him before she died from the injuries gained when she protected a bunny from the attacks of Ittanmomen.
* Tarou & Jirou (太郎と次郎, Tarō to Jirō?, 26, 30-31, 42-44, 52): Twin ninja who served Tsuruhime's father and played with Tsuruhime as a young girl. They accompanied Tsuruhime's father to stop Daimaou years ago, but they were captured. Tsuruhime's father had to exchange his life to serve Daimaou in order to spare their lives. In response, the two of them were turned into dogs, posing as pets to Bun at their master's mansion. The two eventually returned the favor by sacrificing themselves to free Hakamenrou.
* Bun (ブン, Bun?, 26, 30-31, 42-44, 51-53): A Youkai who despises the Youkai way and has been helping Hakamenrou in secret, rescuing Sasuke and company when they were blasted into the raging river. In the end of series, he remains with Hakamenrou after he is finally freed of Daimaou's control.
* Gali (28-29): A indentured servant of Nue, Gali sold his soul to the Youkai in 1986 to save his daughter's life after a car crash in America. To keep his end of the bargin, Nue made Gali his personal assassin, bestowing him some of his power and the use of an arm-mounted claw. As one of his first missions, Gali murdered the father of Jiraiya. As a penance, Gali raised Jiraiya in secret with attempt to the train the boy to kill him once Jiraiya is old enough to overpower Gali in combat, giving his student a pendant. Gali's intent was achieved when Nue sent him after Jiraiya when he looking for his Shinobi Scroll. Though Jiraiya was reluctant at first, he agree to fight when Gali was about to kill Sasuke, learning the truth of his father's murder. Though he managed to mortally wound Gali, Jiraiya lacked the nerve to kill him. But Gali died from the wounds after revealing the truth behind the murder, later buried by Jiraiya out of respect.
* Hakamenrou (白面郎, Hakamenrō, White Masked Man?, 30-53): Armored mystery man who turns out to be Tsuruhime's father. He resurfaced with Daimaou during Daimou's eventual coming in the human world, leaving his daughter at a young age in an attempt to stop it from happening. However, he failed and offered his servitude to Daimaou in return for the lives of his companions. However, Hakamenrou used his servitude as a ruse to side with the Youkai in order to find Daimaou's weakness. Upon arriving to oversee the final steps of Daimaou's arrival, Hakamenrou is forced to fight his own daughter to keep face. It was by the Daradara incident that Daimaou learned the true intend of Hakamenrou and turned him to stone for his betrayal. Yama-uba tried to use Hakamenrou as her trump card, but he was restored by the series' end and reunited with his daughter.
* Punishment Sailor Sisters (35): Sukeban Deka-like team (consisting of Yukiyo and Tsukiyo), old friends of Tsuruhime. Their name and catchphrase are references to the Sailor Moon anime series which at the time was in production by Toei's animation unit. Before entering battle, they say, "In the name of Heaven, we will punish you!".
* Chouriki Sentai Ohranger: The Kakuranger appeared to help the OHranger when Onbu-Obake appeared and caused for them.

[edit] Arsenal

* Nekomaru (ネコマル, Nekomaru?): A sentient cat-spirit that assumed the form of a bus that functions as the Kakurangers' base. It also serves as a crepe shop when the Kakurangers are not on a mission. Can also fly in the air.
* Secret Sword Kakuremaru (秘剣カクレマル, Hiken Kakuremaru?, Hidden Round): The main weapons of the Kakurangers. They are the swords passed down from their ancestors that change form whenever the Kakurangers transform. Each Kakuranger is able to perform their own individual special attack with these swords. The Rangers' primary team attack, Lightning Wave (雷光波, Raikō Nami?), involves all five Rangers crossing their swords in mid-air, which sends a powerful blast that destroys the Youkai.
* Doron Changer (ドロンチェンジャー, Doron Chenjā?): The transformation devices of the Kakurangers that were given to them by their ancestors and holds each Rangers' individual coins and generates thier suits. By using the henshin call "Super Change, Doron Changer!" (スーパー変化ドロンチェンジャー!, Sūpā Henge Doron Chenjā!?), the user transforms into a Kakuranger. In the final episode, they were used to reseal the Youkai behind the Seal Door.
* Kakulaser (カクレイザー, Kakureizā?): The pistol sidearms for the Kakurangers.
o Laser Knife (レイザーナイフ, Reizā Naifu?): A small knife concealed within the Kakulaser.
* Shinobi Knuckle (シノビナックル, Shinobi Nakkuru?): A gauntlet that each Kakuranger possesses. It increases punching power and the Kakurangers' individual weapons (NinjaRed's Red Slicer (レッドスライサー, Reddo Suraisā?); NinjaWhite's White Beak (ホワイトビーク, Howaito Bīku?) dagger; NinjaYellow's Yellow Claw (イエロークロー, Ierō Kurō?); NinjaBlue's Blue Shot (ブルーショット, Burū Shotto?) squirt gun; and NinjaBlack's Black Bow (ブラックボウ, Burakku Bō?)) can be attached to it, as well as a grappling device.
* Shark Machines: The team's motorcycles. One of the team's finishing moves is Shark Driver (シャークドライバー, Shāku Doraibā?), where the Kakurangers combine their Shark Machines, and NinjaRed's Shark Bleeder is launched towards the enemy.
o Shark Bleeder (シャークブリッダー, Shaāku Buriddā?): NinjaRed's very own motorcycle.
o Shark Launcher (シャークランチャー, Shāku Ranchā?): NinjaBlue's own motorcycle with a sidecar for NinjaWhite.
o Shark Slider (シャークスライダー, Shāku Suraidā?): NinjaYellow's own motorcycle with a sidecar for NinjaBlack.
* Kakuranger Ball (カクレンジャーボール, Kakurenjā Bōru?): Color-changing football used for the Kakure Shoot (カクレシュート, Kakure Shūto?), the team's second finishing move. It is a football that is passed from member to member and finally kicked into the Youkai.
* Thunder Sword Hikarimaru (雷鳴剣ヒカリマル, Raimeiken Hikarimaru?, Light Round): A short sword given to Sasuke by Tsubasamaru during the final battle with Junior, used with the Kakuremaru sword to perform the finishing attack Hidden Style Thunder Cut (隠流・雷鳴斬, Kakure Ryū Raimei Kiri?). The sword can be used to summon Tsubasamaru.

[edit] Sanshinshou

The Sanshinshou (三神将, Sanshinshō?, Three God Generals) are sentient mecha/mentors of the Kakurangers. Invincible Shogun hibernates as the Wind Illusion Castle (風雲幻城, Fūun Maboroshijō?). The Kakuranger's ancestors also appeared from the castle in the beginning of the series to give the Kakurangers their Doron Changers. Inside the castle is a stone altar of the Sanshinshou, the source of the Generals voices.

* Ninja Gattai Invincible Shogun (忍者合体無敵将軍, Ninja Gattai Muteki Shōgun?, Invincible General): The first of the Sanshinshou to be awakened, Invincible Shogun consists of the five Giant Juushou (巨大獣将, Kyodai Jūshō?, Giant Beast Generals). The Kakurangers transform into the Giant Beast Generals by the command "Hidden Style: Giant Juushou Jutsu!" (隠流巨大獣将の術, Kakureryū Kyodai Jūshō no Jutsu?). They later combine into Muteki Shogun. The Juushou's group attacks include the Vacuum Hurricane (真空ハリケーン, Shinkū Harikēn?) and Hidden Style: Secret, Big Bang (隠流奥義ビッグバン, Kakureryū Ōgi Biggu Ban?). He is armed with the mighty Flaming Shogun Sword (火炎将軍剣, Kaen Shōgun Ken?), which can defeat nearly any Youkai with its flaming blade and has a hilt which resembled a shachihoko. The sword can also be shrunk to human size for the Kakurangers to use in desperate situations. The "Shinobi" kanji medal on his chest can deflect certain youkai attacks. One of the Muteki Shogun's attacks is the Shogun Flower Spray (将軍花吹雪, Shōgun Hanafubuki?). As Super Ninja Gattai Super Invincible Shogun (超忍者合体ス-パ-無敵将軍, Chō Ninja Gattai Sūpā Muteki Shōgun?, Super Invincible General), it uses its cannons to finish off Youkai. Unlike most Sentai, where the Rangers pilot their mecha, the Kakurangers actually become the Beast Generals. Muteki Shogun's head resembles an origami crane. Invincible Shogun's power helped to power up GaoKing in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai.
o Red Saruder (レッドサルダー, Reddo Sarudā?): NinjaRed's Juushou form, armed with the Saruder Slicer. Forms the body of Muteki Shogun and stores the helmet. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word for monkey (猿, saru?).
o White Kark (ホワイトカーク, Howaito Kāku?): NinjaWhite's Juushou form, armed with the Kark Beaks. Forms Muteki Shogun's left arm. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word for crane (鶴, kāku?, this is an alternate reading, used only in compounds).
o Blue Logan (ブルーロウガン, Burū Rōgan?): NinjaBlue's Juushou form, armed with the Logan Shaft. Forms Muteki Shogun's right arm. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word for wolf (狼, rō?, this is an alternate reading, used only in compounds).
o Yellow Kumard (イエロークマード, Ierō Kumādo?): NinjaYellow's Juushou form, armed with the Kumard Claw. Forms Muteki Shogun's right leg. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word for bear (熊, kuma?).
o Black Gammer (ブラックガンマー, Burakku Ganmā?): NinjaBlack's Juushou form, armed with the Gammer Bow. Forms Muteki Shogun's left leg. Its name is a pun on the Japanese word for toad (蝦蟇, gama?).

* Juushou Fighters (獣将ファイター, Jūshō Faitā?): Lightly armored battle versions of the Juushou, summoned from each Kakuranger's Doron Changer medal, able to act on their own. By performing the "Hidden Style: Juushou Fighter Jutsu!" (Kakureryū Jūshō Faitā no Jutsu), Kakurangers can fuse into their repective Juushou Fighter to increase their power. Team attacks include the Fighter Crash (ファイタークラッシュ, Faitā Kurasshu?) and the Super Kakure Shoot (スーパーカクレシュート, Sūpā Kakure Shūto?).
o Battle Saruder (バトルサルダー, Batoru Sarudā?): NinjaRed's Juushou Fighter form, armed with the Saruder Claw (サルダークロー, Sarudā Kurō?).
o Battle Kark (バトルカーク, Batoru Kāku?): NinjaWhite's Juushou Fighter form, armed with the Kark Cut (カークカット, Kāku Katto?).
o Battle Logan (バトルロウガン, Batoru Rogan?): NinjaBlue's Juushou Fighter form, armed with the Logan Kick (ロウガンキック, Rōgan Kikku?).
o Battle Kumard (バトルクマード, Batoru Kumādo?): NinjaYellow's Juushou Fighter form, armed with the Kumard Head (クマードヘッド, Kumādo Heddo?).
o Battle Gammer (バトルガンマー, Batoru Ganmā?): NinjaBlack's Juushou Fighter form, armed with the Gammer Three Attack (ガンマースリーアタック, Ganmā Surī Atakku?).

* Seinin Beast Tsubasamaru (聖忍獣翼丸, Seininjū Tsubasamaru?, Sacred Ninja Beast Wing Round): A giant mythical white falcon that combines with either the Invincible Shogun (as cannons) or the Kakure Daishogun (as a set of wings) for more power. This bird first appeared to help the Rangers against Umibouzu. He was the only member of the Sanshinshou who did not talk vocally, most likely because it's an animal. It has a wingspan of 85.6 meters (almost as long as a football field).

* Five-God Gattai Kakure Daishogun (五神合体隠大将軍, Goshin Gattai Kakure Daishōgun?, Hidden Commander-in-Chief): The last of the Sanshinshou to be discovered, Kakure Daishogun is composed of the five Chounin Beasts (超忍獣, Chōninjū?, Super Stealth Beasts). After finding the Shinobi Scrolls (忍之巻, Shinobi no Maki?), which hold many of the Kakurangers' techniques and powers, the Kakurangers were able to call forth and pilot the mighty Chounin Beasts. These mighty creatures are called forth using the Scrolls of Shinobi and the command "Hidden Style: Chounin Beast Jutsu!" (隠流超忍獣の術, Kakureryū Chōninjū no Jutsu?). Although very powerful as separate fighting units, the Beasts can combine to become the last of the God Generals. Its weapons are its two arms. The right fist has the power of the monkey and the left has the power of the wolf. With the right arm it can perform the God Hammer Punch (ゴッドハンマーパンチ, Goddo Hanmā Panchi?), and with the left arm it can perform the God Burst Chop (ゴッドバーストチョップ, Goddo Bāsuto Choppu?). The Iron Fist God Finish (鉄拳ゴッドフィニッシュ, Tekken Goddo Finisshu?) is performed when the two attacks are done after the other. As Winged Gattai Super Kakure Daishogun (翼合体スーパー隠大将軍, Tsubasa Gattai Sūpā Kakure Daishōgun?, Super Hidden Commander-in-Chief), it performs the Flying Kick (Furaingu Kikku) and its finisher Iron Fist Flying Finish (鉄拳フライングフィニッシュ, Tekken Furaingu Finisshu?).
o God Saruder (ゴッドサルダー, Goddo Sarudā?): Piloted by NinjaRed, armed with the connecting Saruder Double Swords (サルダーダブルソード, Sarudā Daburu Sōdo?). Forms Kakure Daishogun's right arm. Helped out in Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai.
o God Kark (ゴッドカーク, Goddo Kāku?): Piloted by NinjaWhite, armed with the Flying Beam (フライングビーム, Furaingu Bīmu?). Forms Kakure Daishogun's head.
o God Logan (ゴッドロウガン, Goddo Rogan?): Piloted by NinjaBlue, armed with the Logan Attack (ロウガンアタック, Rōgan Atakku?) and Eye Beams. Forms Kakure Daishogun's left arm.
o God Kumard (ゴッドクマード, Goddo Kumādo?): Piloted by NinjaYellow, armed with Eye Beams and Stomp Attack. Forms Kakure Daishogun's upper torso, and the toy version carries the right hand in its underbelly and sports the left hand as its tail.
o God Gammer (ゴッドガンマー, Goddo Ganmā?): Piloted by NinjaBlack, armed with Gammer Fire (ガンマーファイヤー, Ganmā Faiyā?) and Gammer Dynamite (ガンマーダイナマイト, Ganmā Dainamaito?) (release several smaller versions of itself, which would latch on a Youkai and explode). Forms Kakure Daishogun's lower torso and legs.

[edit] Youkai Army Corps
Main article: Youkai Army Corps

The Youkai Army Corps (妖怪軍団, Yōkai Gundan?, Apparition Army Corps) were sealed away 400 years ago by the Kakurangers' ancestors and have now changed their forms to keep up with the times. Most Youkai have a human form (sometimes distinguished with bizarre markings on their faces) and use the Ninja Arts themselves. When defeated, they summon a lightning made of human despair and misery to strike them, causing them to grow into giants.

* Nurarihyon (ヌラリヒョン, Nurarihyon?, 1): The previous leader of the Youkai years ago who was defeated by the ancestors of the Kakurangers long ago by being sealed away.
* Daimaou (大魔王, Daimaō, Great Demon King?, 23, 30-53): A 1,200-year old youkai who took over as the new Youkai leader, having his son Junior set up preparations for his coming into the human world by gathering children's souls to open the Demon-Seal Gate that confined Daimaou at bay, then gathering the souls of every human in the airborn district to speed-up the process. However, though Super Kakure DaiShogun destroyed the Seal and canceled the ceremony, thus setting all victims free, the Seal reformed itself and Daimaou emerges, turning the altar into his base of operations before later using a giant flying skull castle with wing-like ears as his lair. He later declared the time of darkness, creating Daradara to aid him to drown the world in darkness before Daradara was destroyed. After his brother and sister were defeated, Daimaou was the only Youkai left to deal with the Kakurangers. However, Daimaou, being the embodiment of all evil, he couldn't be destroyed or his influence would spread worldwide. In the finale, when he grew giant, the Sanshinshou and NinjaMan used their powers to shrink him, allowing the Kakurangers to seal him back into the cave where the other Youkai are/were entombed.
* Gasha Dokuro (ガシャドクロ, Gasha Dokuro, Gasha Skull?, 14-31): Prince of the Youkai, the son of Daimaou, Gasha Dokuro made himself known to the Kakurangers in the guise of Young Noble Junior (貴公子ジュニア, Kikōshi Junia?), a bleached blonde leather punk with a guitar that can turn into a chainsaw and a love for Death metal rock and classical music. In Episode 23, he revealed his true form to the Kakurangers and, in Episode 24, he managed to defeat them in battle. In his true form, usually evoked when he gets pumped up about something, Gasha Dokuro is a skeleton Youkai wearing an army helmet, half of his body is white while the other half matches his helmet and is camouflage. Extremely effective, he has had a long staying power than most Youkai and less than his father, who contacted Junior and demanded plans for his release. Junior carries it out, defeating the Juusho Fighters and stopping them from summoning Invicnible Shogun before using his power to take the skull-like altar he created on a building and the surrounding district into the sky beyond the Kakurangers' reach. From there he used his music to turn those trapped on it into stone to serve as materials for Daimaoh's revival. While Gasha Dokuro appears to be completely heartless to even his lackeys and more relentless in combat, he does have some respect for the Kakuranger, as seen when he allowed his Dorodoros to give water to the Kappa-ized Seikai and Saizou to fight Nue. Once all the Kakurangers had obtained the Shinobi Scrolls, Junior assumes his true form to battle the Chounin Beasts, and was overpowered by them until Hakamenrou intervened. The fact that he had to be saved by the very human whom Daimaou prizes above him, drove Junior to uncover Hakamenrou enlisting Sandayuu to help stage his fight. After mortally wounding Sandayuu, Junior assumes his true form and overpowered the Kakurangers at first until Tsubasamaru gives Sasuke the Hikarimaru to defeat Gasha Dokuro. But Gasha Dokuro refused to accept defeat and enlarges, fighting the Chounin Beasts once again with the gear he had Yagami commission for him. But the tables turned when the team form Kakure DaiShogun, and then SuperKakure Daishougun, stripping off his gear before killing him. Soon after, Daimaou states that Gasha Dokuro was no more than a pawn who was no longer needed in the Youkai's ultimate plan.
* Prof. Yugami (ユガミ博士, Yugami-hakase, Prof. Warp?, 12-16, 30-31): A Youkai scientist who created replicas of Youkai monsters from kidnapped children for Tengu. After Tengu's defeat, Yugami came under the services of Junior, providing the Youkai prince with mechanical weapons and armor for the other Youkai serving him. Events become much worse when Daradara does the same thing to the Kakurangers, except NinjaRed. However, Daradara had a glaring weakness: He only feels pain when his "father" is in pain himself. Learning this, NinjaRed manages to wound Daimaou (transferring the pain to Daradara) long enough to cancel out the siphoning process. Rendered back to its original and powerless state, Daradara was easily killed by Invincible Shogun & SamuraiMan. A weakened Daimaou soon retreated afterwards.
* OuMukade (オオムカデ, Ōmukade?, 45, 53): A giant centipede Youkai who battled with NinjaMan and the Kakurangers up in the snowy mountains. Seems to be clad in a football player's armor and uniform. Could speak some English. Killed by SamuraiMan & Kakure Daishogun.
* Mujina (ムジナ, Mujina?, 46, 53): A giant badger Youkai that looked like a cross between a French painter and a comic book (or manga) creature. Killed by SamuraiMan & Super Kakure Daishogun.
* Kasha (カシャ, Kasha?, 47, 53): A youkai dressed in modern times like a fire chief, armed with a giant chakram. Killed by Samuraiman and Super Kakure Daishogun.
* Yuki-Onna (ユキオンナ, Yuki Onna, Snow Woman?, 48): This youkai could turn civilians into snowmen. After becoming giant, she created 2 snowmen monsters to battle the Kakurangers. Her snowmen were destroyed by Invincible Shogun and Samuraiman, and she was destroyed by Kakure Daishogun.
* Bimbogami (ビンボーガミ, Binbōgami?, 49, 53): A youkai based on the Japanese god of poverty. He turned all of the Kakuranger's weapons into worthless garbage that were unable to harm him, also turning them into the "Bimbo Sentai Kakuranger". He was wiped out by SamuraiMan, Invincible Shogun, and Kakure Daishogun.
* Onbu-Obake (オンブオバケ, Onbuokake, Piggyback Ghost?, Ohranger vs. Kakuranger): A powerful Youkai that was sealed in a temple away from the other Youkai by the ancient Kakurangers. Buldont brought him in for a contest he and his father Bacchus-Rage were having to see who can kill the OhRangers first. In a duel with Bara Gear, he piloted OHBlocker while Bara Gear piloted OHRanger Robo. Onbu-Obake could enlarge himself to the size of the Robos without the use of lightning. Onbu-Obake was a pervert/rapist and had a fetish for young, pretty girls, whom he could/would abduct to take their souls with a few licks from his extendable tongue. His human guise is a clown and his powers include possession and absorption attacks. He also scared Ganmazin away by showing him his spiritual form. The Kakuranger and Ohranger both joined forces in order to defeat both he and Bara Gear. After Buldont and Bacchus made a truce, Onbu-Obake and Bara Gear merged to form Onbu-Gear (オンブハグルマ, Onbuhaguruma?). He survived OHBlocker's sword attack, but went dizzy after OHBlocker, OHRanger Robo and Red Puncher tossed Tackleboy around so many times. This left OHBlocker open to use Tackleboy to finally destroy the monsters forever.

[edit] Other Enemies

* Emperor Daidas (En-ou Dainasu, Super Sentai World): This planet-conquering tyrant came to Earth to add it to his empire, and sent Zaigan, Bango, and Damaru to the surface as part of the invasion process. After the three generals and their two youkai allies were killed by the Fivemen, the Jetmen, the ZyuRangers, the Dairangers, and the Kakurangers, Daidas swore vengeance. He gave the Five Robo, Jet Icarus, Daizyujin, Dairenoh, and Invincible Shogun a hard time as he was more powerful. But when a photographer (who, along with his girlfriend, witnessed Daidas' arrival) told the Rangers to hit Daidas' third eye of the left side, the Rangers themselves figured out that that area had to be his weak spot. Daidas himself was debilitated by a right hook from Invincible Shogun. Taking advantage, the other robos struck with one weapon from their respective arsenal (Jet Icarus used the Icarus Axe while the rest used their respective swords), and Invincible Shogun delivered the final blow with a slash from its own sword, defeating the tyrant once and for all.
* Daidas' Generals (Super Sentai World): Daidas dispatched these three generals as part of his "Earth Invasion Plan".
o Zaigan: Zaigan was about to slay a photographer and his girlfriend, who witnessed Daidas' arrival as the three generals had orders to slay anyone who learns of Daidas' invasion plans and his weakness, when the Kakurangers came to the rescue. The tables were turned when two Youkai came with the two witnesses as hostages and forced the Kakurangers to surrender before shooting at them. Zaigan was about to kill the Kakurangers to when the Fiveman, the Jetman, the Zyurangers, and the Dairangers shot at the enemy quintet. In his anger, Zaigan called forth the footsoldiers of the enemies of the four previous Super Sentai. The footsoldiers were easily disposed of. Zaigan was debilitated by the Howling Cannon.
o Bango: Bango was sent hurtling in the air by the Dairenrods.
o Damaru: Damaru received a Red Slicer to his neck, Five Red and Red Hawk used their respective swords to defeat the two Youkai, and the quintet was killed off by the Kakuranger Ball.
